Entire Mets coaching staff asked back, but Geren will interview for Dodgers’ managerial opening

The entire Mets coaching staff has been asked to return for the 2016 season, Sandy Alderson said on Wednesday.

Bench coach Bob Geren will interview for the vacant Dodgers manager position, though, according to Ken Rosenthal (Nov. 4).

Hitting coach Kevin Long, assistant hitting coach Pat Roessler, pitching coach Dan Warthen, first base coach Tom Goodwin, third base coach Tim Teufel and bullpen coach Ricky Bones are all expected to return.

Geren previously managed the Oakland A’s from 2006-2011. He joined the Mets as bench coach in October of 2011.

The Mets gave manager Terry Collins a new two-year contract on Wednesday (Nov. 4).
