The GM Meetings will take place in Boca Raton, Florida, starting Monday, Nov. 9, and continue through Nov. 12. Typically, during the day, the group will spend more time discussing business issues about the game. In addition to conferences and meetings about league issues, the GM Meetings are used for teams to meet, talk about agendas, player values, offseason plans and learn who wants who and who may be available. So, buckle up, as we’re about to get hit with a lot of random trade rumors, which can be exciting and tedious.

In the past, November was used for research, with deals happening during or after the Winter Meetings in early December. However, the last two years, a bevy of activity went down during November, not long after the GM Meetings. I have a feeling we may see the same, especially in trades, as teams look to this market before having to overspend on free agents.

Lastly, be ready for rumors. It seems every year they get more vague and more frequent, as reporters, radio hosts, columnists and insiders tweet fast and furious and often blue the line between fact, suggestion and opinion.

As always, MetsBlog will handle all these random bits of information, news and ‘rumor,’ re-organize it, pulling in from all sources, we’ll add stats, insight and opinion, and repack it so you understand why it matters to the Mets. So, stay tuned, and have fun…
