The Braves and Rangers are among teams looking to upgrade at catcher, according to NY Post reporter Joel Sherman (Nov. 10, 2015).

I can’t see Sandy Alderson ever dealing back-up C Kevin Plawecki, mostly because Travis d’Arnaud keeps getting injured. But, if such a move is on the table, Alderson should call the Rangers, who need pitching, and may also be listening to deals for SS Jurickson Profar since he’s expected to 100% in 2016.
D’Arnaud missed 95 games due to varying injuries in 2015, during which he hit .268 with 12 HR and 41 RBI in 239 at-bats. Meanwhile, Plawecki hit .219 with 3 HR and 21 RBI in 73 games, while striking out during 23% of his at-bats.
There are no immediate plans to have d’Arnaud and Plawecki learn new positions, although it’s possible it could be explored during spring training, Terry Collins told reporters in early November.
“We’ll see how that sorts out over the course of the offseason, but I don’t think we’re anxious to run either one of them out of that catching position,” GM Sandy Alderson added.
