Reliever Vic Black has elected to become a free agent.
After starting the season on the disabled list, Black was unable to fight his way back on the Mets roster. He spent the entire season in the minors battling a variety of injuries.
In 41 games in the minors, Black was 1-6 with a 5.94 ERA and 1.95 WHIP.
