4 Things You Often Forget to Clean

Now that the weather is getting colder, you’ll be spending more time indoors. Don’t risk your health by living in a dirty home. Check the following areas to see if you have already thoroughly cleaned them:

Under the furniture

When you look under a bed or sofa there are usually a few dust bunnies rolling around that can be quickly captured with a vacuum or dust mop. But did you take the time to look at the actual bottom of the furniture piece? You may be shocked at what you find clinging to bed frames, chair seats and table braces.

Your Mattress

Most of us remember to wash our sheets regularly, but rarely do we give any thought to the state of our mattresses. To rid the fabric of any dust mites and prevent sagging, flip your mattress every six months. Before turning it over, sprinkle a mixture of baking soda and essential oils to get rid of odor. Let the mixture soak in for a few minute and vacuum the surface to pick up residue afterwards.  Source: HuffingtonPost

Cleaning tools

We know to clean the nooks and crannies of our homes, but what about the objects you’re using to clean them? Your brooms, mops, sponges, and other cleaning utensils could be teeming with bacteria. After you clean, consider cleaning the tools you used themselves. Source: TheDailyMeal

Walls

If you have kids or pets, this might be a no-brainer – those handprints (or pawprints!) add up. Wipe off any loose dust with a soft cloth, and then gently scrub off any dirt with an all-purpose cleaner that’s safe for your walls. (Test in an inconspicuous area first if you’re unsure.)
