Setting Up
Determine the recommended washing instructions for the drapes and curtains. Consult the care instructions on the label of the window treatments. Some drapes and lined curtains must be professionally dry cleaner. Do not machine wash drapes and curtains that are specified as dry clean only or you may damage the fabric.
Always follow the manufacturer’s cleaning, care and handling instructions for window treatments. Check the tag for care instructions.
Do not apply water-based solutions to wood blinds. The water will warp and discolor the wood. Only use products specifically formulated for wood. Source: wikiHow
Cleaning
Fabric shades are another window treatment where your vacuum will come in handy. To clean and dust fabric shades and coverings use the dust brush attachment of your vacuum on a low setting.
Another tool that will help keep dust at by, especially for cellular shades is a hair dryer set to “cool”. Use this to blow away any dirt that has been trapped increases or inside the honeycomb openings. If any bugs get caught inside these honeycombs, resist the urge to squish them and either use your hairdryer to blow them out or gently push them out of the shade.

Maintaining
Now that your fabric blinds are clean, you should make an effort to see that they stay that way. While you can only do so much to prevent accidents, there is plenty you can do to keep dirt, dust, and debris from building up on your fabric blinds until they are discolored permanently. Going over them with your vacuum cleaner attachment regularly is a good idea. A microfiber cloth can also be great at removing loose dirt from your fabric blinds.
You may try to save yourself some effort by putting off cleaning your fabric blinds for the future, but in reality you are only making extra work for yourself.
