Granderson has surgery on thumb

Mets OF Curtis Granderson had surgery on Thursday to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb but will be ready for Spring Training, the team announced (Nov. 5).

Granderson suffered the injury during the NLCS against the Cubs.

In the World Series against the Royals, Granderson went 5-for-20 with three home runs and five RBI.

Granderson, 34, is under contract through 2017.
