Matt Harvey said he has no intention of leaving his agent, Scott Boras, the pitcher told FOXSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal (Nov. 9, 2015). According to Rosenthal, there had speculation in baseball that Harvey might consider switching agencies.
Harvey is not eligible to be a free agent until 2018. In his first year of arbitration next season, Harvey is expected to earn around $5 million (Oct. 6, 2015), up from the $600,000 he earned in 2015.
Harvey has been a client of Boras since at least 2007 (May, 2015) when he rejected a $1 million signing bonus from the Angels to attend the University of North Carolina. In 2010, Harvey was selected as the seventh overall pick by the Mets, who gave him a $2.5 million.
In the wake of arguing in public with the Mets about Harvey’s innings limit during his first year back from Tommy John surgery, Boras took out an insurance policy on Harvey’s arm.
