Terry Collins is a finalist for the Manager of the Year award along with Mike Matheny of the Cardinals and Joe Maddon of the Cubs, MLB announced (Nov. 10).
Collins led the Mets to a 90-72 regular season record in 2015 and helped guide the team to the World Series, where they lost to the Royals in five games.
The award was voted on prior to the postseason.
2015 was Collins’ first winning season as Mets manager, having finished under .500 from 2011-2014.
After the World Series, Collins, 66, signed a two-year extension that runs through 2017.
