Cespedes did not a receive cortisone shot, sits out of optional workout

New York Mets OF Yoenis Cespedes is not at today’s optional team workout at Citi Field (Rubin, Oct. 23).

Cespedes was taken out in the second inning of Game 4 of the NLCS due to soreness in his left shoulder.

He has not received a cortisone shot and is expected to be ready for the start of the World Series.

David Wright, Daniel Murphy and Matt Harvey are also among a group of players who did not attend today’s workout. The Mets will hold a mandatory workout on Saturday.
