Terry Collins addressed reporters, presented by Cadillac

Mets manager Terry Collins talked to reporters during his team’s workout at Citi Field on Thursday and said…

The Mets will take batting practice inside, but not conduct a full workout on field, “We’re pretty familiar here, so to bring them out here just so you guys can all get a quote from them doesn’t make sense to me. So, we’re gonna give them a blow and get them ready for tomorrow.”

The team is confident, despite being down 0-2, especially since they’ll play Game 3 in front of their home fans at Citi Field, “We’re down, but we’re not out.”

There is strong chance that Juan Lagares remains in center field, with Yoenis Cespedes in left, for Game 3.

He has not written his lineup for Game 3, but he’s happy having Juan Uribe on the bench.

He understands how frustrated Mets fans are having gone so long without a World Series title, and, “I think we’ve done it the right way, there was a light at the end of the tunnel and you’re seeing that right now.” Mets fans are strong and tough, it’s hard for opposing players to play in Citi Field, and, “We’re glad to be back.”

He is so confident in Noah Syndergaard, he considered using him as his starting pitcher in Game 1 instead of Game 3.

Lastly, he’s wearing the NYPD hat during today’s workout to honor Officer Randolph Holder, who was fatally shot last week on duty in New York, “This is something the organization said we should do today, and I certainly support it.”

The World Series will resume Friday with game 3 at Citi Field with Noah Syndergaard starting against RHP Yordano Ventura at 8:07 pm ET.
