Collins spoke to reporters after Game 2 and said…

On why the Royals had only six swings and misses all game…

“They live up to exactly what people said and that is they put the ball in play. Like I told Jake (deGrom), not everything has to be a strike. You’ve got to move it around, you’ve got to change speeds, you’ve got to give them something else to look at. If you’re going to continue to pound the strike zone, they’re going to put it in play. And that’s what they did.”

On the struggles of the offense…

“We’re not hitting, that’s what I see. …We’ve stressed it enough, when we play good, our lineup produces throughout. It just shows you right now with us not hitting, how big Dan Murphy really was in the NLCS with the home runs. We’ve got to pick it up offensively, we’ve got to do a better job of using the whole field to hit. And we’ve done it. We certainly have done it and we’ve got to do it again.”

On why Johnny Cueto was so dominant in Game 2…

“Changing speeds, throwing strikes, using his changeup, pitching to both sides of the plate. He was very effective pitching in, out of the windup, all those different deliveries. It just throws your timing off. …We’ve just got to worry about making some adjustments in our lineup to start getting some hits.”
