The Mets announced that Matt Harvey will start Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday night. Jacob deGrom will start Game 2, Noah Syndergaard will start Game 3 and Steven Matz will start Game 4.
Yoenis Cespedes said he feels better and that he’ll be ready for Game 1 of the World Series. Cespedes left Game 4 of the NLCS early due to a left shoulder injury and later received a cortisone shot.
Juan Uribe, who missed the NLDS and NLCS due to a chest injury, took grounders on Friday, batting practice on Saturday, and traveled with the Mets to Kansas City on Sunday. The Mets have until 11 am ET on Tuesday to determine if Uribe will be on their World Series roster.
What’s on tap for the World Series
The Mets will have a workout at Kauffman Stadium on Monday afternoon, after which Terry Collins and Matt Harvey will speak to reporters as part of World Series Media Day.
The Mets open the Series against the Royals on Tuesday at 8:07 p.m. in Kansas City.
The Royals are expected to announce their starting rotation later this afternoon.
