Maddon says Lester won’t start Game 4 of the NLCS

Cubs manager Joe Maddon said that LHP Jon Lester will not start Game 4 of the NLCS on three-days rest (Oct. 19).

Instead, RHP Jason Hammel will make the Game 4 start at Wrigley Field after RHP Kyle Hendricks starts Game 3.

Lester, who is on track to start Game 5 (if necessary), allowed four runs on eight hits, walked one and struck out five in 6 2/3 innings while taking the loss in Game 1.
