Michael Conforto talked to reporters on Friday and said…

When asked what the last 24 hours have been like…

“There was definitely some recovery from the celebration. It’s just sinking in now that we’re going to the World Series. I had a little extra pep in my step this morning.”

What it has been like having Michael Cuddyer here to mentor him…

“I think he sees a little bit of himself in me. He went through a similar situation coming up with a playoff team. Right away he took me under his wing to make things easier on me. He’s very good at the little things in the game and he’s trying to pass that along to me.”

When asked if he has ever played for a bad baseball team at any level…

“No, I don’t think I ever have. I’ve been fortunate to play on a lot of good teams. What I will say though is that I’ve never won a World Series. I lost the Little League and College World Series. I’ve been saving it for this one.”

How he feels at the plate right now…

“I’m feeling good at the plate. I’m putting together quality at-bats and hitting the ball hard that just aren’t not finding the grass. I want to stay in the zone a little more. I got a little anxious going out of the zone for balls. I just need to get back to my strengths and return to doing what I do well.”

What it’s been like going from playing in Class-A to the World Series in just a year…

“Its been a blur. It’s a testament to our minor league system and how they help you grow. It’s been a whirlwind.”
