Today at Wrigley Field, before Game 4 of the NLCS, Terry Collins talked with media and had the following to say about…

On stealing bases against the Cubs…

Even though the Mets don’t have the speed that some other teams might have, the scouting report on the Cubs suggested the Mets could try to steal more often than normal.

On if anything has surprised him about his young starting pitchers…

The thing that’s impressed Collins the most has been their ability to throw strikes, though he noted that they can at times throw too many strikes when they’re ahead in the count.

On guarding against a letdown with the team up three games to none…

Collins said he leans on the veteran players to meet with the younger players about not focusing on anything but the current game. “We’re all attentive, tonight and tonight only,” Collins said.
