Terry Collins may be interested in managing for only a few more seasons, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reported.
The Mets hold an option on Collins for next season, and Sandy Alderson has said Collins’ status will be discussed after this season ends.
What’s on tap for the World Series
The Mets will have a workout at Citi Field during the late morning on Friday, after which Terry Collins and select players will speak to reporters.
The Mets are off until Tuesday when they open the World Series in either Kansas City against the Royals or Toronto against the Blue Jays.
The Royals lead the Blue Jays three games to two in the ALCS, with Game 6 set for Friday in Kansas City.
