Royals know Mets won’t be easy to beat

The Royals beat the Blue Jays, 4-3, on Friday night to advance to face the Mets in the World Series, which begins on Tuesday in Kansas City.

After the game, the Royals said they know the Mets won’t be easy to beat (Oct. 24).

“We know they’re going to be tough,” CF Lorenzo Cain said “They’ve got those big-time pitchers who throw hard. Not going to be easy. But it’s not supposed to be when you get this far. We’ll be ready.”

Added 1B Eric Hosmer:

“They’ve got those power arms. We’ll have to be ready. …It’s going to be pretty evenly matched. Should be a good series.”

Royals manager Ned Yost has not yet announced his starting rotation for the World Series, but they’re expected to start RHP Edinson Volquez in Game 1, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reported (Oct. 24).
