Free-agent utility infielder Cliff Pennington is close to signing a one- or two-year deal with one of a few interested teams, according ESPN.com’s Jerry Crasnick (Nov. 14, 2015).
Pennington, 31, hit just .210 with a .298 OBP, three home runs, 21 RBI, and three stolen bases during 105 games this past season with the D-Backs and Blue Jays.
However, he made starts at shortstop, second base, third base, and left field.
