In case you missed it on Monday…

Yoenis Cespedes said his left shoulder is 100 percent healed and that he’ll be ready for Game 1 of the World Series, which starts tonight in Kansas City.

The Royals will start RHP Edinson Volquez in Game 1, RHP Johnny Cueto in Game 2, RHP Yordano Ventura in Game 3 and RHP Chris Young in Game 4, the team announced Monday afternoon.

Kelly Johnson will start at DH for the Mets in Game 1, manager Terry Collins said.

Matt Harvey was named the Sporting News NL Comeback Player of the Year.


What’s on tap for Game 1 of the World Series

The Mets open the World Series against the Royals tonight at 8:07 p.m. in Kansas City.

Matt Harvey (2-0, 2.84 ERA) gets the start for the Mets, opposed by Edinson Volquez (1-2, 4.32 ERA) for the Royals.

Prior to the game, Collins and Game 2 starter Jacob deGrom are expected to meet with reporters, which will air live on SNY.
