Mets centerfielder Yoenis Cespedes left Game 5 of the World Series after the sixth inning after fouling a pitch off his left knee.
With the bases loaded, Cespedes fouled an Edinson Volquez pitch off his left knee. He lay down to the ground and was tended to by trainers.
After several minutes, he returned to the at-bat and popped out to short. He limped on his way to first base and back to the dugout.
Juan Lagares replaced him in center field for the seventh inning.
Cespedes, who went 0-for-3 on Sunday, extended his series-long slump to 3-for-20.
